How it works

Upload a picture of a government issued ID in the app. You can use a passport, driver’s license, military ID, etc. This allows us to match your records securely and helps ensure that you—and only you—can view your information in the app. Your ID will not be used for anything other than identity verification. Once we confirm your identity, Verily can bring together your electronic records from one or more Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) so licensed providers can review them to provide you with personalized recommendations.

After you upload a picture of your ID, we ask that you take a selfie as another form of identification. This is an additional step we take to ensure the secure pull of your private health records. Your selfie will not be used for anything other than identity verification. Why a selfie? Taking a picture of yourself is an added security measure called “live proof,” which makes it hard for someone else to impersonate you. It’s an extra layer of protection for you and your health information. You may have used live proof identification in other situations where safety and privacy are very important, such as ride share services or age verification.

With your consent, we can securely match and gather your health records so licensed providers can give you personalized recommendations. Once you’re verified, we’ll send you a notification when your health recommendations are available. It may take some time for your information to show up in the app. We use one or more Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) to gather your health records in the app for licensed providers to review. It’s important to note that HIEs may not include your entire medical history. Not all providers agree to share data with HIEs. And in some cases, providers who have opted in may not share certain types of records. This can include paper records or sensitive health areas like mental health or fertility-related care. Verily works with licensed providers to review your health information using standard screening guidelines. You’ll receive screening suggestions in the app for you to review and bring to your next provider visit. Based on your records you may see screening suggestions for diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure.

Head spinning after your last doctor visit? You can refresh your health records periodically so you don’t need to memorize everything. All it takes is one tap. Each time you refresh your records, you’ll get updated recommendations from your care team once they review your latest available history—from new test results and labs to recent visit summaries and more.

Say goodbye to jumping from app to app and remembering multiple logins. Verily does the work to gather your health records from multiple doctors and systems, and device data through Apple Health Kit and Google Health Connect to provide you with health recommendations from licensed providers. See information like medications, procedures, vaccines, conditions, labs, test results, and more.

Because your health is always evolving, you can refresh your records in the app periodically. With one tap, you and your care team can see a more complete picture. We use one or more Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) to securely access your information with your consent, just like your primary care provider. HIEs might not include your whole health history. Providers must agree to share data for records to be available on HIEs.
